Mindgard has locked in $30.0M in Series A funding, a round led by Album VC with participation from Karma Ventures, .406 Ventures, Atlantic Bridge, IQ Capital, and Lakestar. The AI security startup, spun out of a decade of research at Lancaster University and now operating out of Boston and London, is positioning this capital behind its attack-driven defense platform for securing AI models, agents, and applications.
The company’s pitch is straightforward: traditional security tools can’t see or measure the risks that AI introduces, leaving security teams blind to attack surfaces and struggling to enforce controls. Mindgard aims to close that gap with visibility into AI inventory, agentic red teaming, and runtime enforcement-backed by a research pipeline that includes active PhD-level innovation. It already counts organizations in finance, healthcare, and technology as customers.
