Mercer Medicine, the clinical faculty practice dedicated to addressing healthcare needs in underserved rural areas of Georgia, has secured $100K in new funding. Affiliated with Mercer University School of Medicine, the organization has been expanding its footprint across the state since its establishment in 2005.
The capital comes as Mercer Medicine continues to develop its network of rural health clinics, a mission that gained significant momentum with the opening of its first rural clinic in Plains, Georgia, in 2018. That initiative, endorsed by former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and former First Lady Rosalynn Carter, served as a blueprint for subsequent expansions into counties like Clay, Putnam, and Harris.
