The U.S. rare earth supply chain just got a small but pointed vote of confidence. Maglut Heavy Industries, a startup focused on rebuilding the country’s rare earth capabilities, has raised $3.1M in a pre-seed round backed by Wave Function®, Nova Threshold, and Julian Capital.
The company describes its mission in blunt terms: “We’re rebuilding America’s rare earth engine.” With domestic production of these critical minerals long lagging behind global demand, the fresh capital gives Maglut a foothold to tackle a supply chain that’s become a strategic vulnerability. The round’s backers-a mix of deep-tech and industrial-focused investors-are betting early on a player in a sector that’s suddenly hard to ignore.
