Lydian has raised $43.0M in a Series A round, a bet on electrifying the production of sustainable aviation fuel. The funding comes from Breakthrough Energy Ventures, AP Ventures, and Builders Vision.
The company, founded in 2021, is working to replace traditional oil and gas refining with modular, fully-electrified reactor systems that turn CO2, water, and renewable electricity into fuels and chemicals. Its pitch is speed and cost-a faster, cheaper path to decarbonizing aviation than conventional approaches. The backing from Breakthrough Energy Ventures, in particular, signals serious climate-tech credibility, though Lydian is also hiring as it looks to scale its technology beyond the lab.
