Liner has raised $38.0M in a Series C round, a fresh infusion of capital for the AI search engine that has quietly become a go-to tool for students and researchers. The round was backed by LB Investment, Atinum Investment, CJ Investment, Korea Development Bank, Helios Private Equity, KB Securities, Daishin Securities, and STIC Ventures.
The company’s pitch is straightforward: search results you can actually trust. Liner surfaces answers from academic papers and authoritative publications rather than the open web’s noise, and it claims over 10 million users worldwide. That traction caught the attention of a16z, which ranked Liner as the fourth most-used generative AI product on the web. The new funding gives Liner room to push further into a crowded but still unsettled market for AI-powered research tools.
