LifeMine Therapeutics has pulled in $263.0M in a Series E round, a hefty infusion for a biotech betting that ancient fungal biology can yield modern precision medicines. The financing draws a deep-pocketed roster that includes Bezos Expeditions, Gates Frontier, and GV, alongside RA Capital Management and GlaxoSmithKline, among others.
The Cambridge-based company is advancing a "Top-Down Drug Discovery" platform that mines evolutionary insights from fungi, pairing them with machine learning and synthetic biology to find new therapeutic targets. Its lead candidate, LIFE-001, a long-acting calcineurin inhibitor, is being developed for immunologic disorders and organ transplantation, positioning the fresh capital to push that pipeline forward.
