The bottleneck on American compute isn't chips-it's power. Lazarus Energy, which builds modular supercritical CO₂ turbine generators that convert heat from gas, nuclear, or geothermal sources into clean, dispatchable electricity for data centers, has raised $16.0M in a Series A round.
The company's pitch is straightforward: legacy turbines are too big and too slow for the AI buildout, and the grid can't keep pace. Lazarus positions its smaller, faster generators as the bridge between energy supply and data center demand, targeting a decade where compute expansion hinges on electricity availability rather than silicon. The round's investors were not disclosed.
