Green hydrogen is having a moment, and HVR energy is betting that the future of the sector isn't in massive central plants but in distributed generation. The company has raised $23.2M in a Series A round backed by Sandton, Barents Re, and Langur.
HVR focuses exclusively on producing green hydrogen for the hard-to-electrify corners of the economy-mobility, heavy transport, logistics, and industrial applications where batteries simply don't cut it. The fresh capital gives the company a runway to push its distributed hydrogen projects forward, though specifics on deployment timelines or geographic focus weren't disclosed.
