Hummingbird Kinetics, the company behind a novel fluid harmonic damper developed in collaboration with NASA, has closed a $100K seed round. The startup offers a compact, flexible, and easy-to-service alternative to traditional slosh tanks and pendulums used in buildings.
Its competitively priced fluid harmonic damper can be distributed throughout a building, improving efficiency and giving more leasable space back to owners. The system was developed by structural engineering experts at Thornton Tomasetti, which now partners with RWDI to leverage over 25 years of damping system expertise.
