Codebreaker Labs measures what human genetic variants actually do. We edit individual single-nucleotide variants into disease-relevant primary human cells and measure the effect of each one, tens of thousands at a time. Sequencing made DNA easy to read. Interpreting it is still hard: of roughly 9 billion possible single-nucleotide variants, less than 0.05% are understood. Most genomic AI learns from sequence alone, or from gene knockouts in immortalized cell lines, which is one resolution coarser than the variants patients actually carry. Our platform, CODEX, is built to close that gap. Our AI models nominate the variants worth testing. Multiplexed CRISPR maps them in the primary human cell that matters for the disease. Each completed Atlas becomes a licensable asset, combining the measured data with the models trained on it, and every Atlas adds to CODEX.
