The Indian gaming studio Hitwicket (Metasports Interactive), known for its immersive cricket titles, is set to accelerate its expansion into football and esports after securing $20.0M in new funding. Founded by alumni of ISB and VIT University, the company has already drawn over 15 million users across 109 countries with games like Hitwicket Superstars.
This capital infusion will bolster Hitwicket's mission to build the world’s best cricket game and establish India’s first mobile Esports IP. The studio has previously been recognized for its innovation, including a first-place win in the gaming category of the Prime Minister’s Atma Nirbhar App Challenge and selection for the Google Games Accelerator program.
