The electrical grid, a complex network prone to outages and safety concerns, is getting a technological boost from Gridware. The San Francisco-based company, which specializes in active grid response, has raised $10.5M in a seed round to advance its platform for proactive grid maintenance and fault mitigation.
Gridware's system uses high-precision mechanical sensors to monitor electrical, physical, and environmental factors, aiming to detect potential issues early and ensure more efficient and safer grid operations. The funding round was backed by climate-tech and Silicon Valley investors.
