gMendel, a startup developing AI-powered technology for diagnosing genetic disorders, has secured $1.4M in Seed funding. The investment, led by Metavallon VC, will support the company's mission to provide accurate, fast, and affordable diagnostic tools for rare diseases.
The company's vertically-integrated, IVD-certified platform aims to address the significant unmet clinical need in diagnosing over 10,000 genetic disorders, where current methods are often costly, complex, and can take an average of seven years for a diagnosis. gMendel's cloud-based solution, which obtained CE mark under EU IVDD in 2022, automates genetic analysis, making it more accessible and efficient.
