Giraffe Bio has raised $6.4M in seed funding to bring better chemistry to copper processing. The round was backed by Orion Industrial Ventures, BHP Ventures, Twynam, AIR Capital, and Baruch Future Ventures.
The company develops biochemical reagents that improve mineral selectivity and recovery in copper flotation. Its reagents are designed as drop-in solutions for existing flotation circuits, meaning operators wouldn't need to rebuild their plants to use them. Giraffe Bio says it combines deep science, engineering, and mining expertise to tackle complex mineral processing challenges, with a focus on copper recovery uplift.
