Genera has raised $10.0M in seed funding, a round that backs the North American manufacturer of compostable, molded fiber packaging. The company, which makes its products from domestically grown grass, is positioning itself as a large-scale alternative to traditional plastic and foam packaging.
The round was led by First Round Capital, with participation from BoxGroup, WndrCo, Carpenter Capital, and Success Venture Partners. Genera’s pitch centers on performance and convenience matching conventional packaging, while offering a compostable end-of-life story-a combination that’s increasingly drawing investor attention as brands face pressure to ditch single-use plastics.
