A UK deep tech company that retrofits magnetic chips into existing battery systems to boost performance has raised $28.0M. Gaussion, spun out from UCL in 2022, develops an "energy intelligence" layer for battery packs.
Its magnetic chips promise longer cycle life, better cold weather performance, and real-time data from inside the pack, all without changing cells, chemistry, or supply chains. The investment round drew support from BGF, AlbionVC, Autotech Ventures, UCL Technology Fund, DN Capital, and Future Ventures.
