Fraiya Ultrasound has raised $4.8M in pre-seed funding, a bet that artificial intelligence can bring more consistency to a notoriously subjective corner of medicine: the prenatal ultrasound.
The London-based company is building a platform aimed at the anomaly scan, the mid-pregnancy check where clinicians look for fetal abnormalities. Fraiya’s pitch is that its AI can help standardize image capture and interpretation, cutting down on variability between operators and easing the workload on sonographers. The company says its goal is to support more confident clinical decisions while making the experience less stressful for expectant parents. The fresh capital will go toward advancing that platform, though specifics on how the money will be deployed were not disclosed.
