Fab2 has raised $500.0M in a Series A round, a hefty infusion for a startup that wants to do something most chipmakers wouldn't touch: build the entire stack itself. The company designs the hardware and software for chips, then manufactures the fabs, tools, and components in-house, leaning on automation to push process engineering forward.
The round draws backing from a deep bench of investors, including Fundomo, Corner Capital, Paradigm, Maverick Silicon, StepStone Group, Protagonist, UDC Ventures, and Naval Ravikant. That lineup suggests confidence in Fab2's vertically integrated bet-a capital-intensive approach that could redefine how custom silicon gets made, if the team can pull it off.
