Enagás Secures €37.6M Funding to Enhance Spain’s Independent Gas Transmission Network

Enagás, the Technical Manager of the Spanish Gas System and a cornerstone in ensuring the competition and security of the nation’s natural gas network, is proud to announce the successful raising of €37,600,000 in its latest funding round.

This strategic infusion of capital underlines the company’s ongoing commitment toward bolstering Spain’s energy infrastructure.

With an expansive network that includes 11,000 km of pipelines, three underground storage facilities, and four regasification plants—along with a 40% stake in the Bilbao regasification plant—Enagás plays a pivotal role in maintaining a reliable and resilient gas supply.

The new funding is earmarked for key investments aimed at modernizing its extensive infrastructure, expanding storage and regasification capacities, and integrating advanced technological innovations to further enhance grid efficiency and security.

Additionally, the capital will support strategic initiatives for both domestic improvements and international ventures, as Enagás continues to broaden its global reach with projects such as its involvement in the TLA Altamira regasification facility in Mexico and the LNG terminal in Chile.

Recognized as an independent Transmission System Operator (TSO) by the European Union, the company has cemented its reputation as a trusted and impartial facilitator of the gas transmission network, harmonizing its operations with peers across Europe.
