Empowering Museum Futures: Museum Development South East Secures £1K Grant to Connect and Inspire Regional Museums

Museum Development South East is thrilled to announce that we have successfully raised £1,000 in our latest funding round, marking an exciting step forward in our mission to support and enhance museum development across the region.

Funded by Arts Council England, MD South East operates from 1st April 2024 until 31st March 2026, with an unwavering commitment to delivering innovative museum development activities that build on our proven track record.

Managed through a strong partnership between Norfolk Museum Service and Brighton & Hove Museums, our established network continues to empower museums by delivering industry-leading advice and support, offering specialized training sessions, distributing small grants, and creating valuable opportunities for institutions to connect and share their expertise.

This new injection of funds will be dedicated to expanding our core programs, further refining our training modules, and increasing the accessibility of our small grants initiatives.

Our dedicated team, spread across the South East, will work diligently to ensure that museums within diverse local authority areas such as Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent, Norfolk, Oxfordshire, Suffolk, Surrey, East Sussex, and West Sussex have the resources and opportunities needed to thrive in an evolving cultural landscape.

With this additional financial support, we are poised to initiate new projects, enhance our existing activities, and deepen the connections between museums across the region.
