The U.S. power grid is groaning under the weight of AI’s appetite for electricity, and Emerald AI is betting that data centers can learn to flex instead of just consume. The company has raised $150.0M in a Series A round backed by Energize Capital and DCVC.
Emerald AI’s Conductor platform treats data centers as grid allies, shifting compute loads like inference and training across a network of facilities to ease strain on the power system without sacrificing performance. The pitch is big: unlocking up to 100 gigawatts of AI growth-potentially a decade’s worth of expansion-without the need for massive new grid or power plant investments. That’s the kind of math that gets utilities and hyperscalers talking, and it’s why this round stands out in a crowded field of AI infrastructure plays.
