Edgify has raised $9.0M in a Series A round backed by Rank Ventures and Mangrove Capital Partners, a bet on the startup’s pitch to bring AI-powered loss prevention to grocery checkout lanes without leaning on the cloud.
The London-based company’s Edge AI tech runs self-learning models directly on devices like self-checkouts and scales, aiming to cut retail shrink and speed up transactions. Edgify says its distributed learning framework skips the need for heavy server infrastructure or manual data labeling, and it claims over 8,000 devices are already live across 12 countries with national and global retailers. The fresh capital gives the startup runway to push that footprint further, though specifics on deployment plans weren’t disclosed.
