Dognosis has raised $1.5M in a pre-seed round backed by Accel India and Caffeinated Capital, giving the Bangalore-based deep-tech startup early fuel for its unusual bet on canine olfaction.
The company is working to decode how dogs process scent, with the goal of translating that biological capability into a breath-based cancer detection test it calls BreathEasy. Dognosis describes the broader mission as cracking the olfactory code of disease-making early detection as routine as breathing. The round鈥檚 backers, both known for early-stage tech bets, are stepping into a space that blends animal cognition research with medical diagnostics, a niche that remains largely unproven but potentially high-impact.
