The semiconductor industry’s next breakthrough may not come from a lab bench, but from an AI scientist. Discovered Materials has raised $9.0M in seed funding to build exactly that, with Lightspeed India Partners and Peak XV Partners leading the round.
The startup is developing AI systems designed to discover new materials for semiconductor manufacturing, a field where innovation has historically been slow and expensive. The seed round also drew backing from notable angels including Paul Graham, Gokul Rajaram, and Thariq Shihipar, signaling early confidence in the approach. The fresh capital will help the company push its AI-driven discovery process from concept toward practical application.
