Discern has raised $10.0M in a Series A round, with Walkabout Ventures and Bungalow Capital backing the company. The startup is building what it calls a modern registered agent-a service that handles the legal and regulatory paperwork businesses must file with the state, a niche but essential back-office function that has seen little innovation.
The funding arrives as the registered agent space, long dominated by legacy players, faces growing demand from founders who expect the same digital ease they get from other business tools. Discern’s pitch is straightforward: streamline the process, make it more transparent, and remove the friction that comes with traditional providers. The fresh capital should help it scale that offering.
