Dash Bio has raised $30.0M in a Series A round, a fresh infusion of capital aimed at modernizing the lab work that sits between drug discovery and market approval. The company is tackling a bottleneck: while AI and new drug modalities have sped up early research, the development phase still leans on manual, labor-intensive bioanalysis.
Dash Bio’s pitch is automation. Its robotics-and-software platform promises higher-quality assays with turnaround times up to 10x faster than the industry average, scaling from preclinical through late-stage clinical studies. The founding team brings deep biotech pedigree-CEO Dave Johnson was Moderna’s Chief Data and AI Officer, COO Ander Tallett led enterprise systems there and at Resilience, and CSO Ely Porter co-founded Rootpath. The round’s investors weren’t disclosed, but the capital will help push a tech-first approach into a process that’s long overdue for a rewrite.
