A $245.0M seed round is an outlier by any measure, and it鈥檚 the bet Lightspeed Venture Partners, Picture Capital, and Redpoint Ventures are placing on Cylake, a cybersecurity startup that won鈥檛 even have a general-availability product until early 2027.
The company is building an AI-native security platform designed specifically for the largest, most regulated institutions-but with a twist that sets it apart from the cloud-dependent crowd: Cylake鈥檚 architecture runs on-premises or in private cloud environments, giving customers full control over their data and operations. The platform is still in development, shaped by consultations with design partners, but the investors are clearly wagering that the demand for sovereign, AI-driven defense will be worth the wait.
