Cricket Ireland Secures $82K

Cricket Ireland has secured $82,000 in funding, marking a significant investment in the national governing body for the sport of cricket in Ireland.

Established in 1923, Cricket Ireland is responsible for setting the strategic direction and the national administration of cricket across the island.

The organisation oversees a comprehensive range of activities vital to the sport's development.

This includes direct responsibility for the international men's and women's squads, as well as the performance pathway structures for both systems.

Cricket Ireland also runs the men's inter-provincial and first-class competition, the women's Super Series, and three national club cricket cup competitions.

A key milestone for the body was achieving Full Membership status with the ICC on June 22, 2017, which granted Ireland Test status and allowed it to join the ICC Future Tours Programme.

This capital will support Cricket Ireland's ongoing mission to develop and promote the sport at all levels.

The organisation plans to use the funds for growth initiatives, further enhancing its programmes and infrastructure.

Cricket Ireland works closely with its provincial unions – Cricket Leinster, Northern Cricket Union, North West Cricket Union, and Munster Cricket – in delivering national programmes and supporting grassroots initiatives across the country.
