CorePower Magnetics has raised $10.6M to build the next generation of power magnetics - the components that manage and convert electricity in everything from EV chargers to grid equipment.
The Pittsburgh company makes magnetics from amorphous and nanocrystalline materials rather than the conventional powder cores, claiming up to 10x weight reduction, 5x smaller volume, and 2x lower losses without rare earths. Engine Ventures, Material Impact, Evergreen Climate Innovations, Carnegie Mellon Catalyst Fund, and Baruch Future Ventures participated in the round.
