Computomics has raised $6.3M in a Series B round, a bet on using machine learning to decode the messy, complex biology that underpins modern agriculture. The TĂĽbingen-based biotech applies AI to genetic, phenotype, microbiome, and environmental data, helping plant breeders and researchers make faster, more data-driven decisions across more than 180 projects.
The round was backed by Convent Capital Agri Food Fund, High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), MBG Baden-Württemberg, and Amathaon Capital. Computomics’ pitch is that its algorithms can unlock biological diversity in ways traditional analysis can’t, accelerating sustainable crop development at a time when feeding a growing global population is an increasingly data-hungry problem.
