Clontarf Foundation Secures $33.6M to Empower Indigenous Youth Through Football and Education

The Clontarf Foundation is proudly announcing a landmark funding achievement with a raise of $33,600,000, marking a significant step forward in our mission to improve the education, discipline, life skills, self-esteem, and employment prospects of young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men.

Since opening our first Academy for 25 boys in 2000, our organization has rapidly grown, now serving 10,000 boys across 149 schools in Western Australia, the Northern Territory, South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland.

This generous injection of funds will enable us to expand our innovative programs, which uniquely combine education with the passion for Australian Rules football and Rugby League.

By leveraging the boys’ existing enthusiasm for sport, our academies not only attract them to school but also provide structured opportunities to succeed academically and socially.

This funding will be strategically allocated to strengthen school partnerships and widen access to our network of football academies, ensuring that every Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander male enrolled in our partner schools has the opportunity to participate.

Our goal is to empower these young men with practical life skills and academic support, effectively reducing the risks associated with underachievement and social alienation.

We believe that by instilling a sense of accomplishment and belonging at a crucial point in their lives, these young citizens will build lasting self-esteem and forge pathways toward meaningful participation in society.
