Businesses spend too much time wrestling with their databases, a problem Citus Data aims to solve by transforming Postgres into a worry-free, distributed system. The company, which offers its database extension as open source, on-prem software, and a fully-managed service, has closed a Series A funding round of $9.5M.
The investment was led by Khosla Ventures and Data Collective, backing Citus Data's mission to help multi-tenant applications scale and deliver millisecond performance for real-time analytics customers. A Y Combinator alumnus, Citus Data was founded in 2011.
