A Tampa-based software company aiming to transform how organizations work with their data, Certus Core, has closed a $5.0M Seed round. The investment, backed by Capital Q® Ventures Inc. and Tampa Bay Ventures, will fuel the continued development of its IBIS™ platform.

Founded in 2021 by veterans Jake Dyal, Tim Toohill, and Joe Blankenship, Certus Core's technology combines agentic artificial intelligence with advanced data visualization. This enables teams to ask questions in plain English and derive actionable insights from complex operational environments, helping organizations turn scattered data into clear intelligence without sacrificing accuracy for speed.

In defense operations sensors and autonomous systems flood teams with data. The real problem emerges when that information remains trapped across incompatible tools leaving analysts to piece fragments together manually as decisions are delayed. The Certus Core team identified this challenge early.

They developed IBIS an AI platform that consolidates fragmented sensor and system data into a single unified environment working offline at the edge without disrupting existing infrastructure or demanding long training cycles. Their five million dollar seed round led by Capital Q® Ventures Inc. with participation from Tampa Bay Ventures supplies the capital needed to expand in high demand areas.
