Celvivo has raised $6.6M to scale its work in 3D cell culture, a niche where the Danish company is betting that its hardware can make lab-grown models behave more like living tissue. The round’s investors were not disclosed.
The company’s Clinostat-based systems-the Clinostar and ClinoReactor-aim to solve persistent problems in the field, like shear stress and diffusion bias, by helping spheroids and organoids regain physiological traits they lose in traditional culture. Celvivo says its gear is built around reproducibility and ease of use, and it has been developed with input from researchers. The fresh capital will support that mission, though specifics on how it will be deployed were not shared.
