Munich-based CD4 Therapeutics has raised $13.7M in seed funding from a German family office affiliated with a midsize pharmaceutical company. The biopharmaceutical startup is developing immunotherapies that target regulatory T cells, or Tregs, to treat autoimmune diseases where existing biologics fall short.
Its lead candidate, Tregalizumab, is described as the only monoclonal antibody designed to selectively activate Tregs. The company holds worldwide exclusive rights to develop and commercialize it, and is initially targeting oral lichen planus, lichen sclerosus, rheumatoid arthritis and acute graft-versus-host disease after stem cell transplantation. CD4 Therapeutics was founded in 2024.
