Autonomous maritime systems are getting a fresh wave of capital as defense tech heats up, and Bulwark Dynamics just locked in $6.8M in seed funding. The San Francisco-based startup, which builds uncrewed vessels for contested logistics and distributed military operations, announced the round with backing from SBI US Gateway Fund LP, Archetype Ventures, Nēnē Ventures, and Onomichi Dockyard.
The raise lands at a moment when the Pentagon is pushing harder on unmanned platforms to cut risk to human crews in high-stakes supply runs. Bulwark’s focus on logistics-rather than flashier combat drones-sets it apart in a crowded field, though the company has yet to detail how it will deploy the fresh capital.
