Kanurra

Kanurra is a pharmacy benefit manager for small and mid-sized self-funded & level-funded employers, the groups the rest of the market prices off contracts built for much bigger books. Everyone will quote a 40-life or a 1000-life group. Almost nobody wants it, because underwriting and servicing it by hand costs more than it earns. We built the administration around software, which is what makes the small group worth serving. How we are paid: one flat per-member-per-month administration fee. The drug cost passes through to the employer at what the pharmacy is paid. No spread, no retained rebates. What we do not own: no specialty pharmacy, no mail-order pharmacy. Members still get mail order and specialty dispensing, from pharmacies we hold no stake in. There is nothing here for us to route a prescription toward. Specialty drugs are roughly 2 to 3 percent of claims and more than half of pharmacy spend, so who decides where those scripts go is most of the drug cost. For brokers and TPAs: send a claims file and the repriced comparison comes back in minutes, with the rate assumptions shown line by line so you can check the model yourself. We sign a business associate agreement first. Bring us in before a renewal and the analysis costs you nothing.
