Construction plans are riddled with hidden mistakes that only surface after the shovel hits the dirt - and that’s exactly the problem Buildcheck is attacking with fresh capital. The Stanford-born startup has raised $12.0M in a Series A round, money that will fuel its AI-powered “spell-checker” for building designs.
Buildcheck’s software screens architectural and engineering plans before they go to construction, flagging issues that would otherwise turn into costly change orders, RFIs, or city review comments. The pitch is straightforward: catch errors on screen before they become line items on a budget. Real estate developers, general contractors, and architects are already using the tool, and the company says industry leaders rely on it to see problems before they cost real money. The round’s investors weren’t disclosed, but the backing signals continued momentum for AI applied to one of the most error-prone phases of the built world.
