Brilliance Cosmocare has raised $200K in a seed round, backing a doctor-led skin health company that grew out of a single Mumbai clinic rather than a lab or a boardroom. The funding arrives as the firm pushes into skincare products, a pivot born from a problem its founder kept seeing in practice.
Brilliance started in 2016 in Andheri West, where Dr. Ashok Patel built a clinic around a simple rule: examine the person before selling them anything. By 2024, the team noticed patients were undoing their in-clinic results with unsuitable home products, so they launched their own line, designed by the same doctors and guided by the same clinical logic. The company says it will stay anchored to that principle-recommending only what has a genuine clinical reason behind it, even if that means losing a sale.
