The National Aquatic Resources Research and Development Agency (NARA) is thrilled to announce that it has successfully raised $3,000,000 to bolster its essential work in the field of aquatic resources in Sri Lanka. As the premier national institute established under the NARA Act of No. 54 of 1981, NARA has been at the forefront of research, development, and management initiatives aimed at understanding and sustainably managing the diverse aquatic ecosystems that the country boasts. Over the past 39 years, NARA has conducted extensive scientific studies that have played a crucial role in shaping the fisheries landscape of Sri Lanka. The funding will be utilized to expand our research facilities, enhance our technology capabilities, and support innovative projects aimed at the sustainable utilization of both living and non-living aquatic resources. This significant financial backing will empower NARA to deepen its commitment to providing science-based solutions for the challenges faced by the fishing industry and the broader ecosystem. By investing in advanced research and targeted community outreach programs, NARA aims to foster sustainable practices that not only support the livelihoods of those dependent on aquatic resources but also protect and preserve Sri Lanka's rich biodiversity for future generations. We express our deepest gratitude to our investors and partners for their belief in our mission, and we look forward to making impactful contributions to the sustainability of Sri Lanka's aquatic resources in the years to come.
