Bluefins Unveils $4 Million in Seed Funding to Revolutionize Ocean Shipping with Zero-Emission Propulsion Systems

We're thrilled to announce that Bluefins has successfully raised $4 million in funding to propel our mission of decarbonizing ocean shipping through innovative zero-emission propulsion systems.

As a company focused on addressing one of the largest producers of greenhouse gas emissions, we are committed to tackling the maritime industry, which contributes nearly 3% of global GHG emissions as well as high levels of sulfur oxides and nitrogen oxides.

Our unique approach leverages cutting-edge wave energy conversion technology inspired by the efficiency of whale tail fins, developed in partnership with the esteemed French research organization, Ifremer.

With this new funding, we aim to accelerate the development and deployment of our auxiliary propulsion systems that promise to reduce fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions by at least 20%, providing shipowners worldwide with a reliable means to meet their decarbonization targets.

Our product, featuring an articulated hydrofoil design paired with advanced routing algorithms, is versatile and can be retrofitted onto existing vessels or implemented in new builds.

Beyond mere fuel savings, our technology offers additional benefits like enhanced pitch stabilization and the potential for on-board electricity generation.
