A new approach to gene therapy, one that promises to deliver therapeutic genes more effectively to affected cells, has just attracted pre-seed capital. Bitrobius Genetics, the company behind the Gentrafix™ platform, announced it has raised $948K from investors ARIA and SCVC.
The funding will support its work on a solution to the critical problem of gene therapies failing to reach most cells in a target organ or tissue, a hurdle that has long limited their potential in treating genetic diseases.
