BistroCat has raised $5.2M in seed funding, a bet that the market for automated pet care is ready to move beyond dry kibble dispensers. The company’s pitch is simple: feed your cat wet food on a schedule without being home to do it.
The round backs BistroCat’s automated wet food dispenser, which aims to solve a problem many cat owners know well-wet food spoils quickly, and most feeders can’t handle it. The company positions the device as a way to keep cats on a consistent diet while freeing owners from rigid feeding times. With the fresh capital, BistroCat will look to scale production and get the product into more households, though specifics on rollout plans weren’t disclosed.
