The $2 trillion apparel supply chain has a new middleman problem-or rather, the absence of one. Atorie has raised $9.5M in seed funding to connect high-end factories directly with consumers, cutting out the traditional retail layers that inflate prices and create waste.
The round was backed by a16z SPEEDRUN, Night Capital, and Lightspeed Ventures. Atorie’s platform uses AI to help factories predict demand, test products, and sell only what’s likely to move, while handling logistics and customer acquisition on the backend. The pitch: luxury goods like Italian leather and Mongolian cashmere at a fraction of retail cost, with less inventory sitting unsold. For a sector notoriously slow to digitize, this is a bet on AI as the new infrastructure layer for fashion.
