India's electric vehicle pioneer, Ather Energy, has raised $155.0M. Founded in 2013 by engineering graduates Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain, the company challenged the established internal combustion engine market by developing India’s first smart and connected electric scooters, including the Ather 450 product line.
Ather distinguishes itself by amalgamating clean design and engineering across both hardware and software, offering a product suite that now includes the Ather Rizta, Ather 450X, and Ather 450S, alongside public and private charging infrastructure. The company is also building a complete, indigenously designed and locally manufactured ecosystem for electric vehicles in India.
