A diverse syndicate of investors, including Initialized Capital, 1517, Toyota Ventures, Wireframe Ventures, and Climate Capital, has backed Arcturus Therapeutics with $8.0M in Seed funding. The San Diego-based messenger RNA medicines company, founded in 2013, specializes in developing therapeutics for liver and respiratory rare diseases.
Arcturus is notable for its LUNAR® lipid-mediated delivery and STARR® mRNA technology, which underpinned KOSTAIVE®, the world's first approved self-amplifying messenger RNA COVID vaccine. The company's extensive patent portfolio and ongoing collaborations, such as with CSL Seqirus for pandemic flu, highlight its established position in the RNA therapeutics space.
