A new class of data for drug and material discovery just got a significant boost. Apoha, a startup developing technology to recreate the physics of sensation, has closed a $36.0M Seed funding round. The investment drew support from a notable roster of backers including Singular, Draper Associates, Seedcamp, Wilbe, Nucleus Capital, Acequia Capital, Plug and Play, R7, and Innovate UK.

Apoha's core innovation is its "Liquid Brain," a machine it touts as the first with sensory intelligence. This system is designed to analyze samples as small as 10µg, promising to unlock novel insights by mimicking human sensation. The fresh capital will likely accelerate the development and application of this unique approach.

For decades, molecular science has relied on two fundamental sources of information: sequence and structure. Sequence tells us what a molecule is. Structure tells us what it looks like. But neither tells us what it actually does.

Today, Apoha emerged from stealth with a $36M funding round led by  Singular with participation from Draper Associates. We're proud to continue supporting Apoha alongside Seedcamp, Wilbe, Nucleus Capital, Acequia Capital, Plug and Play, and R7 Innovate UK. We've backed founders Anshika Srivastava and Shamit Shrivastava since the earliest days because they are building something fundamentally new:
