AMentoria Educação has raised $196K in seed funding to attack a stubborn gap in Brazilian education: the distance between teaching and actual learning. The round drew a long list of backers, including Triaxis Capital, Crescera Capital, FIP Nordeste Capital Semente, Insper Angels, Anjos do Brasil, WOW Aceleradora de Startups, Cristiano Faé Vallejo and Adriano Silveira.
The company runs one-on-one mentoring that helps students organize their study time and materials - whether those come from a formal institution or free content online - alongside a content platform built on its own mock exams and study materials. AMentoria says it has more than 40 active medical-student mentors who have delivered over 25,000 mentoring sessions, and that its video content has drawn more than 290,000 views in two years.
