Retail media has ballooned into a $55 billion ad channel, but its measurement often feels like a black box-networks grade their own homework. Advisar, a startup built to be the independent referee in that murky system, has raised $750K in a pre-seed round.
The company’s pitch is straightforward: it integrates a retailer’s media, promotion, and sales data to build a custom model for each advertiser, then compares what the ad spend actually drove against what the network’s attribution claims. Every number gets labeled as reported, directional, or measured, and anything unprovable is flagged outright. Founded by a retail media industry veteran, Advisar’s core bet is that transparency-not another dashboard-is what advertisers are missing. The funding will help it push that message further into a market where trust is in short supply.
