AcouBatt, a startup building a "stethoscope for batteries" to improve quality and safety, has secured $1.5M in pre-seed funding. The investment round saw participation from Creator Fund, Ada Ventures, and an angel syndicate, backing the UCL spinout's innovative approach to battery diagnostics.
The company's technology combines passive acoustic emission sensors, data acquisition hardware, and AI analysis software to listen to internal cell activity in real time. AcouBatt initially focuses on the battery formation process, aiming to help manufacturers shorten formation times, reduce scrap, and identify unusual cell behavior earlier.
